This Web site is not a general directory. Our users are specifically searching for companies supplying certain laboratory equipments and reagents. Visitors mainly come from Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries and reach us, in an important part, thanks to internet search engines (specially Google). On right figure, you can see the main key words used in Google search engine to find our site during 2007. Although the position in search results is very variable, Biolaboratorio used to be found in the first places for many of the key words related with laboratory, as general product names (in Spanish and Portuguese) and so as the name of companies of this sector. Approximately 1% of our users select one of the ads published in the Web site.

1.2. Our statistics

The number of visitors of Biolaboratorio had an exponential growth since its first publication in november 2004 (as Blauplanet Directory) until 2007. Nowdays it has levelled off at around 600,000 visits per year and 2,600,000 pages (data from 2007; see figure below, left panel), that is, aproximately a mean of 4 pages per user. In 2007 Brazil has overtaken Spain as the main origin of our visitors (shown below, on the right). It is followed by Spain, Mexico, Peru and Colombia. After that, most of the Latin American countries and some exporter countries as USA, Germany, United Kingdom, China and India are found with percentages between 1 and 3%.
